The Past Year

Here are some photos to re-cap the last year...2008! It was a busy one for us...full of good times along with change and growth!

We'll start with some random pic's of the boys in and around the house and our property!

We took our first trip to Disneyland!

This was my favorite picture of the trip...if this isn't a true Dad then I don't know what is. The kids were falling apart after a long day at Disneyland, they wanted Dad to carry them both back to the hotel...to avoid a total melt down by all, Dad agreed! I love that Gabe feel asleep, while Anthony is making great progress on the lollypop.

Anthony discovered a new hairstyle and "ROCKS THE HAWK" often!

Gabe trying to "flush" out those darn ghophers so Dad can get them with the shovel.

We tried to get a few jeeping trips in before Mati came...since our jeep only holds four of us! This is one of our favorite places to go...it is soooo beautiful!

The boys both played soccer this year...it was a little crazy! Anthony played for his second year and played for a very long 6 month period, on two different teams. Gabriel played for the first time this year and seemed to like it...he's still getting the hang of the game, but says he wants to play again this year.

Birthday's for both...Gabriel turned 3 in the Spring and Anthony turned 6 this last Fall!

This was so funny...Gabe got this ball as one of his presents and bounced on it for (no joke) about an hour...he loved it and he slept well that night too! :)

One of many BIG projects this year...putting the same real hardwood floors in upstairs as we have downstairs! This was a HUGE project...1300 sq ft...Tod did it in two stages over a couple week period, since we were still living in the house. We played musical rooms as the floors went in, and were sanded with coats applied. It was so awesome to have this done prior to the baby arriving. A great friend of the family helped Tod with this project...thanks Pat!:) My husband is AWESOME...I will never be able to thank him enough for all he does...he knows how to do so many things and does soooo much at our house!

Anthony graduated from kindergarten this past June...very exciting!

And he then in the Fall started first grade! We can't believe how fast he is growing up...time just seems to be flying by.

We made a couple trips to the beach over the summer...Anthony skimmed and boogie boarded for the frist time this year and of course is hooked now...we couldn't keep him out of the freezing cold water!

Gabriel was smart and stayed out of the water with me and "Grammie" and hunted for sea shells! :)

You aren't from Wilton if you don't go and race the Rhino and 4-wheelers at the bike rodeo...this was a blast...good times! There was a lot of s--- talking between the guys in the "Wilton Gang" about who would win. Tod pulled it out and took first in his class...sorry Bryan!

This picture has a story behind it! I had been telling the boys for weeks to slow down when they are using the restroom and not slam the toilet seat down...wait till they were completly done and then put the seat down! They are always in such a rush to get onto the next exciting thing that there is NO time to go "potty". Well I kept telling them that they are going to hurry too much one day and smash their "you know what". They continued to be in a hurry and poor Gabe was the first to be caught by the seat. He was sooo upset...as I would expect. With a big bruise and alligator tears, I calmed him down and settled him in the chair with a movie so the corn pack could do some pain relief (Trader Joe's corn has many functions) :). I ran up stairs to get him his blanket...and when I came down stairs, this is what I found!

We all were so excited for our Matisyn to come...the boys were such a help with getting things ready.

Here are a few pictures of Matisyn at the hospital and the first 2 weeks home! We were ALL so excited for her to finally come!

Here are a few of the boys Fall pictures...this was a bit of a project! Anthony kept "bugging" Gabriel, like big brothers are supposed to do...so this took 10 times longer than I expected! I was able to get a couple good shoots.

Cleaning and carving pumpkins was messy...as always...but fun. The boys were very excited about carving pumpkins this year...they are at a great age for Halloween!

Halloween was fun...even though it rained. :( Anthony's class went to the pumpkin patch for a field trip that day and that night we went to town for pizza and "trick-or-treating". The kids didn't mind the down pour of rain while going door-to-door...they were just glad to be getting candy...surprise-surprise! Anthony was Darth Vader...Gabriel was Mickey Mouse and Mati was a butterfly!

In November of this last year I launched my "Carmen Stiern Photography" blog! This was very exciting for me, as I started down this new path about a year and a half ago. I am having so much fun with it, as I learn and grow as a photographer. Here is the link...check it out sometime, when you get a chance! :)
